Bupropion (Wellbutrin XL/SR, Zyban) is an antidepressant that is less likely to cause sexual side effects or weight gain compared with SSRIs. The same drug under the Zyban label is used to support quitting smoking.

No. Both XL and SR forms have a release coating. Splitting can release the dose all at once.
Bupropion lowers the seizure threshold. Patients with seizure history or active eating disorders are usually offered a different option.
