Citalopram (Celexa) is an SSRI used for depression and anxiety. Lower maximum doses are used in older adults because of the heart-rhythm consideration.

Questions
Citalopram Questions

At higher doses Citalopram can affect heart rhythm (QT interval). Health Canada recommends a lower maximum in patients over 65.
Usually 2–4 weeks for early changes; 6–8 weeks for full effect.
It can be taken with or without food. Same time each day is what matters.
