Quetiapine

Antipsychotic used in schizophrenia, bipolar, and as adjunct in depression

Quetiapine (Seroquel) is an atypical antipsychotic used in schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, and at lower doses as an add-on for depression. Two forms exist: regular (twice daily) and XR (once daily).

How the pharmacy helps

Regular and XR are not interchangeable; we double-check the form on each refill. Many patients on long-term Quetiapine have routine metabolic monitoring (sugar, lipids, weight).
