Trazodone
Antidepressant often used at low doses for sleep
Trazodone is an older antidepressant. At higher doses it treats depression; at low doses it is widely used to help with sleep. The sedating effect comes on within an hour or two of dosing.
How the pharmacy helps
We carry 50 mg and 100 mg tablets. Many low-dose sleep prescriptions ask for half a 50 mg tablet — we can supply a pill cutter on request.

It is not a benzodiazepine or Z-drug. The sedating action comes from a different mechanism and is generally less prone to dependence.
Take it 30–60 minutes before bed and avoid taking it later than that. If grogginess persists, the dose may be too high.
