What to know

Information to review with your prescriber or care team

These notes are educational and do not replace directions from your prescriber or the label on your prescription.

What is it?

Caffeine is used in infants to treat apnea of prematurity (pauses in breathing). Compounding it into a measured liquid allows the very small, weight-based doses these patients need to be given accurately by oral syringe.

How to use

Measure each dose with the oral syringe provided and give it exactly as directed. Doses are based on weight and are adjusted by the prescriber, so do not change the amount on your own.
