Atorvastatin
Statin used to lower cholesterol and reduce cardiovascular risk
Atorvastatin (Lipitor) lowers LDL cholesterol and reduces the chance of heart attack and stroke. Taken once a day, usually long-term. Strengths range from 10 mg to 80 mg.

Liver enzymes are usually checked once after starting and then periodically. Cholesterol is rechecked after 6–12 weeks.
Mild aching is common and often passes. Severe muscle pain or weakness is rare but should be reported the same day.
