Combination opioid analgesic — short-course use
Combinations of acetaminophen, caffeine, and codeine are used for moderate pain. The "T" numbering refers to codeine strength: T1 has 8 mg, T2 has 15 mg, T3 has 30 mg, T4 has 60 mg. T1 is available behind the counter; T2 and stronger require a prescription.
We dispense Rx forms (T2 and stronger) routinely. The pharmacist will review combination ceilings (acetaminophen total per day) and interactions with other opioids or sedatives.
