Lamivudine (HBV use)

Used for chronic hepatitis B (and some HIV regimens)

Lamivudine alone (3TC, Heptovir) is used in chronic hepatitis B; it also appears in some HIV combinations. HIV needs to be ruled out before using it for HBV alone — using HBV-only doses in undiagnosed HIV can promote resistance.

We dispense 100 mg HBV-dose tablets and the higher HIV strengths separately.
