Pneumococcal Vaccine (Prevnar / Pneumovax)

Vaccines against pneumococcal infections

Two pneumococcal vaccines exist: Prevnar 20 (PCV20) and Pneumovax 23 (PPSV23). Manitoba's schedule changed recently — most adults 65+ now get a single dose of Prevnar 20. The pharmacist confirms what you need based on age, previous vaccines, and risk factors.
