Tadalafil

For erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia

Tadalafil (Cialis) treats erectile dysfunction and benign prostatic hyperplasia. Two dosing patterns: as-needed (10–20 mg before activity) or daily low-dose (2.5–5 mg). Tadalafil is longer-acting than sildenafil — up to 36 hours.

Never combine with nitrates (Nitrolingual, patches) — drop in blood pressure can be dangerous.
Tadalafil lasts longer. Sildenafil is faster onset and shorter duration.
BPH typically uses daily; ED can use either. Talk to the prescriber about the goal.
