Tamsulosin

Alpha blocker for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)

Tamsulosin (Flomax) relaxes muscle in the prostate and bladder neck to ease urinary symptoms in BPH. It is taken once daily, 30 minutes after the same meal each day.

How the pharmacy helps

We dispense the 0.4 mg sustained-release form. The pharmacist will flag any blood-pressure medications and remind about cataract surgery — surgeons need to know about Tamsulosin in advance.
