Temazepam

Short-to-intermediate-acting benzodiazepine used for sleep

Temazepam (Restoril) is mostly used short-term for sleep. Other approaches — sleep hygiene, cognitive behavioural therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), and non-benzodiazepine sleep aids — are usually tried first.

How the pharmacy helps

We dispense the standard strengths (15 mg, 30 mg). Long-term nightly use is generally avoided because of tolerance and dependence.

Access framing

Available by prescription only. Temazepam is a targeted controlled substance — refill rules apply.
