Once-daily long-acting bronchodilator for COPD and severe asthma
Tiotropium (Spiriva) is a daily inhaler for COPD and severe asthma. Two delivery forms: HandiHaler (capsules + dry powder device) and Respimat (soft mist inhaler). Different technique for each — the pharmacist will demo on first fill.

Both deliver tiotropium; Respimat is easier for many patients with weaker breath strength.
No — tiotropium is for daily prevention, not rescue. Use salbutamol for sudden symptoms.
