Clopidogrel

Antiplatelet — used after stents and in some stroke prevention

Clopidogrel (Plavix) prevents platelets from forming clots. Common after a coronary stent, after some strokes/TIAs, and in peripheral artery disease. Often combined with low-dose ASA short-term after a stent.

How the pharmacy helps

We dispense 75 mg tablets. The pharmacist will flag PPI interactions — pantoprazole is generally preferred over omeprazole when both are needed.

Yes — extra bruising, longer to stop bleeds. Tell every dentist or surgeon you are on it.
Pantoprazole is preferred over omeprazole when both are needed. The pharmacist can adjust.
Only on prescriber instruction — stopping too early can cause stent clotting.
