Metoprolol

Beta blocker for blood pressure, angina, and heart rhythm

Metoprolol slows the heart rate and lowers blood pressure. It is used for high blood pressure, angina, certain heart rhythm conditions, and after a heart attack. Two forms exist: tartrate (twice daily) and succinate (once daily).

How the pharmacy helps

We stock both Metoprolol Tartrate and the long-acting Succinate. The two are not interchangeable — we double-check the form on every refill.
