Semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy)

GLP-1 receptor agonist for type 2 diabetes and weight management

Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Once-weekly injectable forms (Ozempic for diabetes, Wegovy for weight management) and a daily oral form (Rybelsus). Doses are titrated up over weeks to reduce nausea.

Storage

Common in the first few weeks of each dose increase. Usually settles. Eat smaller meals; talk to the pharmacist if severe.
Skip on days with severe vomiting or dehydration; talk to the prescriber.
