Semaglutide (Ozempic, Rybelsus, Wegovy)
GLP-1 receptor agonist for type 2 diabetes and weight management
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 receptor agonist. Once-weekly injectable forms (Ozempic for diabetes, Wegovy for weight management) and a daily oral form (Rybelsus). Doses are titrated up over weeks to reduce nausea.
How the pharmacy helps
We dispense the pens with needle tips. The pharmacist will demo injection technique on first fill and review storage. Supply has been variable — talk to us about backorder workarounds.

Storage

Common in the first few weeks of each dose increase. Usually settles. Eat smaller meals; talk to the pharmacist if severe.
Skip on days with severe vomiting or dehydration; talk to the prescriber.
Rare but serious. Severe abdominal pain that radiates to the back warrants urgent medical attention.
