Spironolactone

Diuretic with multiple uses — heart failure, blood pressure, acne, hirsutism

Spironolactone (Aldactone) is a potassium-sparing diuretic used in heart failure, resistant high blood pressure, ascites from liver disease, hormonal acne, and hirsutism. Periodic blood work for potassium and kidney function is standard.
