Doxycycline

Tetracycline antibiotic — used for skin, respiratory, tick, and STI infections

Doxycycline is used for acne, respiratory infections, tick-borne illnesses (Lyme, Rocky Mountain spotted fever), and many STIs. It can also be prescribed for malaria prevention.

How the pharmacy helps

We dispense capsules and tablets. Take with a full glass of water and stay upright for 30 minutes after to avoid throat irritation.

No — calcium, magnesium, and iron can stop it from being absorbed. Separate by at least 2 hours.
Yes. Doxycycline increases skin sensitivity to sunlight. Use sunscreen and a hat.
