Cefixime

Oral cephalosporin used in some UTIs and gonorrhea

Cefixime (Suprax) is taken once or twice a day. Used for some urinary infections and as part of treatment plans for certain sexually transmitted infections.

How the pharmacy helps

We dispense 400 mg capsules and a pediatric suspension. Mention any other medications — particularly Warfarin.

Cefixime Questions

Liquid forms occasionally cause temporary tooth staining in children. Brushing after dosing helps; staining is reversible.
Often a single dose for some STI plans, or 5–7 days for UTIs. Follow your prescription.
Cefixime is not a hard "no alcohol" drug, but alcohol does not help recovery from infection.
