Cephalexin
Cephalosporin antibiotic for skin and urinary infections
Cephalexin (Keflex) is commonly used for skin infections, dental infections, and some urinary tract infections. Capsules and suspensions are available.

Many patients with mild penicillin allergy can take cephalexin, but severe penicillin reactions need a different choice. Tell the prescriber and pharmacist.
