Combination antibiotic (Septra DS, Bactrim DS) for UTI and other infections

Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim DS (Septra DS, Bactrim DS) is used for urinary tract infections, certain skin infections, and PCP prevention in immunocompromised patients.

We dispense the DS strength and a suspension for children. Patients with sulfa allergy should not take it. Tell us about all current medications — interactions are common.
